As an educator, Ricardo Campos has been very much involved with the community and the student body. Mr. Campos teaches mathematics at Central Islip Senior High School. He works both with regular education and bilingual education students. Before arriving to the Central Islip School District, he worked at Brooklyn High School for Leadership and Community Service. His mission in this school was to serve high-need students who were under-credited and over-aged. Furthermore, he was also a member of the Language Allocation Policy team where he ensured that all English language learners were provided with appropriate opportunities and all the necessary support to be successful. Now, he has become a board member and the chairperson of the scholarship committee for the Long Island Latino Teachers Association. Through this organization, he is committed to increasing graduation rates and higher education enrollment, retention, and completion. He is a passionate educator who instills love for learning and advocates on behalf of the students to ensure their success beyond high school.
